Austin Pendleton (Director) is a director, an actor, a playwright, and, at HB Studio in New York, a teacher of acting. His Broadway directing credits include The Little Foxes, starring Elizabeth Taylor (five Tony nominations); Shelter, by Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford (two Tony nominations); The Runner Stumbles, by Milan Stitt. As an actor his current Broadway credit (to reopen next year) is The Minutes, by Tracy Letts.; previously on Broadway he originated the role of Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof, and a few years ago played in The Diary of Anne Frank opposite Natalie Portman and Linda Lavin. His plays are Orson's Shadow, Uncle Bob, and Booth, all published and produced in New York, around the country, and in Europe.
